Ideas for your first agents
A good first agent takes one job your team repeats every week. Here are six that companies start with. Copy a job description into What will <name> do? when you add an agent, and change the details to fit your business.
| Agent | Takes care of | Needs access to |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog agent | Complete product data, ready to sell | Products |
| Pricing agent | Prices that stay competitive | Products |
| Sales agent | An answer for every lead, the best ones first | Leads, Deals |
| Support agent | Customer emails, at any hour | Orders, an email channel |
| Finance agent | Invoices and orders in step | Invoices, Orders |
| Marketing agent | Posts and images in your brand | Products |
Catalog agent
Keeps your product data complete, so every product is ready to sell.
What it will do. You keep our product catalog complete. Every product has a description, a category and a price. Write missing descriptions in our brand voice, suggest a category for products without one, and send me a list of products without a price every Monday.
- Access: Products, Read & write.
- First task: "Write descriptions for the ten newest products that have none."
Pricing agent
Watches the market, so your prices stay competitive without anyone checking by hand.
What it will do. You watch our competitors' prices. Every morning, compare the prices of our bestsellers with three competitor shops, and tell me which of our prices are more than 5% off. Suggest a new price within our margin, and never change a price yourself.
- Access: Products, Read.
- First task: "Compare our ten bestsellers with their prices at our three main competitors."
Sales agent
Makes sure every lead gets an answer, and the best ones get it first.
What it will do. You look after our leads. Score every new lead from 1 to 10 by company size and budget, post the leads above 7 to our Sales channel in Slack, and remind me of deals nobody has answered in three days.
- Access: Leads, Read & write. Deals, Read. Automations, Allowed, to score each new lead the moment it arrives.
- First task: "Score this week's new leads and list the five best with a reason for each."
Support agent
Answers customers where they already write to you, at any hour.
What it will do. You answer our customers' emails. Look up the order when someone asks where it is, explain our return policy, and keep the tone friendly and short. When a question needs a person, tell the customer we will reply today, and ask me.
- Access: Orders, Read. An email channel.
- First task: "Here is our return policy. Learn it, then show me how you would answer a customer who wants to return a damaged item."
Finance agent
Keeps invoices and orders in step, so nothing goes unbilled.
What it will do. You check our invoicing. Every Monday, match last week's invoices to orders, list orders without an invoice and invoices past their due date, and draft a polite payment reminder for each overdue customer for me to check.
- Access: Invoices and Orders, Read.
- First task: "Which orders from last month have no invoice yet?"
Marketing agent
Turns your catalog into posts and visuals in your own brand.
What it will do. You create our social posts. Each week, pick three products worth promoting, write a short post for each in our brand voice, and make a matching product image. Send them to me for approval before anything is published.
- Access: Products, Read. Images are paid from the AI wallet.
- First task: "Write three posts about our newest products, each with an image."
